Rep Power: 7 | You are quite wrong about consumer courts that they can only do so much. Consumer courts are known to come down very heavily on truant service providers. Yes. They cannot do anything to ensure QoS but that is not their job. Their job is to punish anyone who does not provide promised service after payment.

Tho he dint say anything, i wasn't feeling too good after that if you understand. |

Rep Power: 0 | mrrijo, You were saying that it is possible that someone else might be having the same MAC address and therefore the same IP address, that the ISP, Reliance has issued. Let me be clear: There would not be any two e-devices in this world having the same MAC address. For example, devices like PCs, laptops, Printers, modems, Routers, keyboards etc all have MAC addressess. The Mac addresses are assigned to them from a range allotted to the manufacturer. Only after allotting an allowed MAC addressess does these devices get the approval. It is possible to change the MAC address using software available which I think only a geek does.:-) So, it is not possible that your account may not be hacked becoz of other guy having same mac address. May be the servers to which you were connected were trying to send packet data to your device even though it must have disconnected. I am not sure on this part. |

Rep Power: 1 | Since this thread is titled "Reliance WiMax Problems" Here's a problem. Reliance Wimax upgraded their servers last night, and now, my entire wifi setup seems to not work any more. I can log in just fine when I connect directly to the white box, but I can't seem to get the login page / homepage for reliancebroadband[dot]co[dot]in when I try connecting with my wifi router. Now, While I was researching on setting up wifi connections for Wimax on this forum, I vaguely recall reading something to the same effect that reliance wimax server is rejecting / not responding to packets sent from a router... or something like that. I tried searching for that but couldn't find it here, strangely enough. Can anyone help? Or is there already a workaround for this problem? I've tried working on it for a couple of hours this morning, but I've got other work to do and won't be back until evening. So, if you guys are brainstorming about it, do post it here. I'd appreciate it. ^_^ |
