how do i configure samsung jet s 8003 phone to download emails from gmail via imap

settings i have are
incoming imap.gmail.com
outgoing smtp.gmail.com
imap port 993
ssl on
smtp port 583
tls on

imap auth on
same as pop and imap

but downloading fails


browser profile is bsnl_west_gprs

with this i can access gmail .but cant download email by impa

check your accesspoint...
and turn it too bsnl's.. maybe the accesspoint is different for web settings, but for softwares/apps. it is different.

maybe your port settings are indeed wrong. You should have these rectifications to be made. Port in 995 with ssl. Port outgoing(smtp)465 with ssl. Try to use pop.gMAIL.COM and smtp.gMAIL.COM. if you use google domain service(apps)use all email id as the username for pop/imap access. The servers are same for it.

If some one still finding the gmail settings for samsung jet..... it is right one here.

I follow your instructions but my SJ still encounter 'connection failed'
wat could be the cause?
