Default Samsung Galaxy Note II exchange offer

If your looking to buy a new phone and your existing phone is a smartphone, then you can have your old phone exchanged for a Samsung Galaxy Note II.
You get Rs10,000 cash back on the Note II with only certain smartphones. The Samsung Note II being priced at Rs37,500 will be reduced to Rs27,500. This maybe a fair price, but I do remeber some time back where the price of the Samsung Note II was around Rs40,000.

The offer is valid from 9th June to 30th June 2013, and the smartphones eligible for exchange are:

    Nokia - 808 PureView; Lumia (710, 610, 800, 510); Asha (311,300,302, 303); C5-(05, 00,03); E5-00; Nokia 500; Nokia 5233; N8-00; X3-02; C6-00; C3-00
Samsung - All Galaxy Phones (except S4, Note2, Star); Wave Series; Omnia Series
    Blackberry - All Models
Sony - Xperia Series; Sony Eon
    HTC - All Models
    Apple - 3G, 3GS, 4, 4S, 5
    Micromax - Canvas Series; A110; A75; A100; A87Ninja4; A73
    Karbonn - A9; A21

Because its an exchange offer, there will some conditions:

The phone should be in a working condition, which means there should not be any defect in the phone and the battery and charger need to be included with the phone.

When receiving your cash back, you need to first purchase your Galaxy Note II which will come under the Smart Upgrade Offer, with that you will complete details of your old smartphone. On the time of purchase you will get Rs5000 in cash, and the remainder of the Rs5000 will be given when Samsung has checked that the old smartphone complies with the handset condition for the offer. This amount will be reinbursed into the customers account.

I dont know what to actually think of this offer, whether it is good or bad. Because only sometime before the cost of the phone was Rs40000 something. I think if your phone is old and not even worth Rs10,000 now then you may have a good deal on your hands.

Theres got to be something which Im missing, I mean getting a brand new Samsung Note II with your old smartphone for Rs10000......!!!! I think If you have the oldest phones out the phones which you are able to exchange then your in for a good deal.

Just as an example I saw the price of a Karbonn A9, its reduced now to Rs6000, but its original price was Rs9800, so if someone has this and is going to buy a new phone, they will basically get all the money back which they spent to buy the Karbonn.

Is the offer, a flat 10000 off? Or is it, get up to 10000 off?

This is nothing but an attempt to clear stocks that they just couldnt sell. Note 2 is not much different from the older version and the price is almost double. Mobile phones are just not selling well these days and another thing which is bothering all these manufacturers is that Ambani ji seems to have managed to get the govt nod for the 700 spectrum for 4G which is being used for defense purposes but across the world thats the frequency that every one is using for 4G including the new Apple products. You cannot use an Apple 4G compatible product on Airtel 4G thanks to an entirely different spectrum that we use here.

Now this rush for selling their smart phones and clearing the shelves can be explaind by only one thing RIL 4G is on the verge of being rolled out and they would sell smart phones aswell and 3G smart phones wont work on their network.. So why would any one dump old smart phones for new Ambani ji's phone? Well it will be purely because the call rates and data rates would be so low that you just cant resist.

I haven't looked by you must have seen new towers coming up fairly rapidly in the last one month or so Yes its all Rcom doing it for the RIL 4G launch.

So who wants a new smart phone that you wont really use for a long time as you would go buy a new 4G handset. Yes Samsung 4G ha ha ha... (I might be bluffing and I might be serious) This is a public forum and I cant really spill the beans... would be a huge spoiler for a few companies if too many people found out whats to come

Give it a few more weeks if you are going to buy a new smart phone dont buy yet!

Any one remembers what Reliance did to the call rates back in the 90's? That is exactly what will happen to data rates

Its a flat Rs10,000 off, as far as its mentioned. Unless they change something after checking your old smartphone, because the Rs10,000 is split into 2 parts. Rs5000 is given when you purchase the phone then Rs5000 after the phone has been checked by Samsung.

I think the max you would probably get back would be Rs5000. Once Samsung have a look at your old smartphone, they are bound to make some issue about it not being in a good condition, or not working properly, then there goes the rest of your Rs5000. Cant say for sure what exactly the catch or scam is, but the only way to know would be once someone goes for the offer and gets their Rs10,000.

Samsung Grand is not even worth it, I mean its not that much of an old phone and they have already got an exchange deal on it.......doesn't this show that its not a good phone and didnt sell very well?
