    Default SIFY excellent talk pathetic service

    I have been using the SIFY unlimited package for the last 6 months and recently switched over to a night 128kbps (unlimited 9am to 9pm) shared connection and a 100 MB package which I use in the day,which when working seems to work satisfactorily.

    I have had extreme connectivity problems where I just can not connect to the internet sometimes for hours together. When reported to customer care they come back with a reply that there will be a permanenet solution to it. I have been complaining to them for the last few months abt not being able to reach my local server. The service is very fluctuating.

    Once I received a call from customer care almost 3-4 days after I lodged a complaint. I complain almost every other day and the problem persists. This is since I have had the connection. Also when I called up customer care and I ask them if I can speak to someone who is incharge, who can give me a clearer picture I am not put through and ad nauseum statement that I will be given a permanent solution.

    The franchisee of Satyam is SAHASRAS (Secunderabad , Sainikpuri Area). Every time I call them up the lady promises to send somebody and one in 20 times the service guy turns up. Thats generally when it is time to collect the bill. Also there was a time when my frequency of complaints was high they(the franchisee SAHASRAS) did not seem to pick up the phone when I call from my landline but immediately when I call from another number they seeem to pick up(caller IDs put to good use wish I could get hold of their collars) .

    Of course this happened just once. Either there should be a money back scheme (yeah I know this is nowhere close to utopia ) or there should be an option where I get my refund of the installation charges. This battle of my calling them up and they promising me a solution has gone on for too long.

    Unfortunately the service industry is very poor all over. I opted for a GPRS connection on hutch once and i was duped of more that 1000 rupess and no service.For all those people who have had problems with any service or product this site will be helpful.

    Angry Ironic!

    Guess what? I followed your link to the international consumer rights protection council website as I decided I would email them first and see what they had to say about my horrifying experience with Sify...and what do I see there? Their email id is hosted on Sify!!! "consumerhelp@sify.com"

    Ironic to the hilt!! Couldn't help laughing out loud!
