Rep Power: 4 | My internet usage is not much so I was looking for a budget deal and at the same time broadband so that my telephone connection would be free. Sify shared connection made sense, offered 64kbps. The truth is, it is the same as a dial up connection sometime even slower. Their tie up with ICC cable in pune is the last straw. I had a lot of problem getting the connection from ICC as they refused to do the wiring and just left the optical fibre hanging in the front of my building. repeated calls to them with no effect. Eventually better sense prevailed and instead of raising my blood pressure I found an easier way and did the wiring neatly myself. Connection was ok, downloads were faster.I found their antivirus mcfee the pits. please do not use this. see if you can get quickheal as this is the only way you can run sify broadband without any hitches. I doubt whether I’ll renew this connection, hopefully broadband rates should be more competitive by next year. Do not go for it unless you are absolutely desperate. Dataone and tata indicom are the best. I am editing this review and I have been using this broadband service for sometime now and am glad to say things are looking good, they updated the connection online a month back and since then things are looking good. The speed of conection is much better and less virus attacks but this may be due to quickheal antivirus which I have installed. The three year quickheal pack cost me 1700 and it really works wonders. You must consider this combination os sify shared broadband and quickheal antivirus. I have not had a problem with the connection for sometime now so heres keeping my fingers crossed. ICC though, is still the same lethargic response to any service querry, but thank God I do not have to call them so often. My next hurdle will be renewal which I hear is a big hurdle to cross with sify. |
