Sify is Pathetic !!!!!

But I guess its doesn’t matter for SIFY. They are one of the biggest Broadband players in India and are happy the way they are. The good thing about it is probably its one of those cheaper broadband connection available around. But the good things end there itself.

Slow Connection: First of all, the connection is slow. They may promise 64kbps or 128 kbps etc. but if you are using any simple firewall or other software for surfing, u’ll realise the speed is never more that 25kbps or even less. Anyway, this we can understand in a country like India where 20kbps is also a luxury if u r using telephone line for surfing.

Security Hazards: Next, you need to have a good firewall and other security features in place. Sify, i believe, uses LAN connectivity. There are always people around who will constantly try to break into your system. Well, Sify may say that it on the users and they cannot do much, but even they know certain IP from where these things happen. Why doen’t they block them or prevent them?????

Connection Drops: The connectivity will keep getting dropped. so if you are trying to download something big ..... God save you.

Extra fees: One has to pay Sify for the installation, ACCEPTED..... but Sify wants you to use there Broadband continously. irrespective of the fact if you want it or not. If you don’t use it for couple of months, they will remove your IP and in the name of Binding charges will levy Rs. 400-500/- ????????? So you are stuck, you have to keep on renewing the Sify connection. Not just this, they will not even inform you of all these at the time of taking the connection, but will ask for it after you go back to them. They will levy any charges on their Wimps and Fancies. Probably, they are making up for the cheaper connection they gave in first place

Pathetic Support: The support is useless. Instead of trying to understand the problem they just keep repeating whatever they understand and instead of helping leaves you much more irritated.....

I always thought Sify will be great, BUT...................................
