Thread: Avergage pings from sify isp

hello please tell me what pings you people are getting in cs 1.6 on v-street and other server and if there is any downtime or not also please the speeds you people are getting as i want to switch from mtnl broadband to sify or reliance

I have a 24 hour unlimited connection with upto 512 kbps speed.I am from Calcutta and most of the time I download heavy files like dvd movies ,etc.

On sunday ,I went online and something weird happened..Sify connected alright but except Google,nothing worked..I restarted my pc and all was alright

Then tuesday morning, I connected to Sify and it was fine..But then, 99% of the sites didnt work.Only Google,Sify,Rediff and Gmail were working..I got mad.. Even the messengers were not connecting..

I cleaned dns cache and tried everything possible ,but there was no result..

I complained to sify and they asked me to format my pc( B@ST#RDS,i have too many stolen softwares which I cant lose),The first thing these sify guys say is format your pc..

Then i checked my cousin's computer who uses the same connection and for him,it was allright..Everything was working fine..

Next day,Sify engineer came and he says that IE is corrupt and i said if IE is corrupt then why are the messengers not working and how come firefox is dead too and how come 5- 6 sites are working fine..Then he said may be sify is at fault and he will come back tomorrow..

Then at night, after around 60 hours when I lost all hope and was about to format my pc , what do i see??????EVERYTHING IS WORKING GREAT..THERE WAS NO PROBLEM AT ALL..

This was really scary and I would never want to witness a repeat of this again..But any idea, what was the reason behind this??

This happens with sify frequently the only sites v can open are sify, rediff, cricinfo.

AND someday they may say to format, next buy new LAN card and next may be get new computer and next hand over your computer to SIFY

AND also remember one day you browse internet and seee every site virus affected even GOOGLE dont panic that u have virus on ur system i observed over 10 systems all are virus free but still show affected
