Default Use DLink DSL 2640 Router for Sify connection

    Hi,

I got a DLink DSL-2640T wireless router for connecting both my laptop and desktop to sify connection. After I got the router, I noticed that the router doesnt have a WAN port. I tried connecting the sify cable to one of the LAN ports. Connectivity works only when I set the desktop/laptop IP also the same. In short, the router works as a switch.

Is there a way to connect the ethernet port to the DSL port ?

My intention is to get a wireless router and modem that can source DSL (when I get BSNL / Airtel in my area) as well as ethernet connection (like Sify).
