    Smile Info abt Sify Network

    Hi

Does Sify Network gives access to Internet Using a cable wire? Iam planning to switch my ISP from Spectranet to Sify because of closure of ports in the former ISP. Does sify gives acess to all the ports and no port is blocked.

Iam staying around 2 km from Cannaught Place region , will sify connection be feasible at my place. Also i heard they charge a lot for installation , please tell me the approximate range of the amount they might charge me.

Do we get fluctuation speed or pure speed?

    Hi mate

I suggest you to stay away from sify and look for some other better ISP's. Sify can not give you anything apart from problems.
They provide basic internet connectivity with LAN cable hanging everywhere starting from electic pole to tree or may be an water tank on the top of building. According to me sify is the worst provider ever known to human race.

If you live within 2 kms of connaught place then you can go for Airtel Broadband, Tata Wimax or MTNL. If you are not willing to go for ADSL Broadband and want Cable Internet then you can contact Bindra Communications Gol Dak Khaana or Kalra Cable in Gole Market they can offer you bit stable (not really very stable or good) connection.

My suggestion still goes for ADSL Broadband from Airtel, Tata or MTNL

Thanks for your well informative reply Smoothvibes

To be Accurate , My location is at Copernicus Road near Bengali market.
Could you please lend me their Url/ phone numbers so that i may contact them.

I already have an ADSL Broadband from MTNL 512kbps UL, and one Cable ISP Spectranet , which has created a lots of problem for me in recent times ,in the sense , they closed all ports, which is very inconvenient for me , Cause i do make use of lots of ports as i deal with proxies and socks , as you know they work on various ports.

Thanks for your suggestion on the two cable internet providers you specified , ill contact them ASAP .

Bindra Communications is near to Gol Daak khana, Shop No. 3 Kaali Baari Marg, don't have contact number and Kaalra Cable is in Gol Market.

There is another question in my mind, if you already got MTNL 512UL plan then why do you want to get this Cable Internet.

ADSL connection is a long distance connection That varies the browsing speed keeping downloading speed constant.

Cable connection is a short distance connection that has uniform browsing speed.

I deal with proxies from scanning to testing them on different ports, Now proxies are descided on how quickly one can use them i.e. Proxy Time Out.

Using ADSL i will never get the real time out of the proxies because of long distance connection. No such problem with Cable networks.

Moreover Proxy testing is also based on your Browsing speed , One must have a stable Browsing speed i.e. is best provided by Cable Networks.

Iam a Network Security Pentestor , SO i try a lots of Legal Port scanning and testing of internal systems for security. So cable internet proves better option for me for my PenTesting purpose.

MTNL ADSL has A good Security in Place , In case of any Port scan detection they reset the connection and you cant complete ur task.

Overall i just love cable isp networks SPeed is much faster than an usual ADSL connection
