This sify is really a very bad service provider in our city. my name is viswanath. my locality is kakinada(andhra pradesh) iam a student and using sify broadband from the date 4th november 2006. i have approached for multiple providers for bband connection for my home pc. i have inquired tata indicom but they said, they are in initial stage of providing connections.also i have contacted bsnl. they said, have to wait for 6 months. then i have contacted sifyon 3rd november. i went to local CTO of sify(Priyavision communications).
They have sent sales person(his name is karim) very same day for detailed explanation of plans to me. i have opted for a 128 kbps night and weekend plan. they have installed lan cable on very next day(this is the greatest point in this matter,coz the connection was provided very fastly). another point to praise is the local cto cust exec told me that it was 256 kbps(actually it was wrongly printed in brochure) and you have no need to pay extra money for that. they have charged rs.1000 as installation charges(actually they said it can be between 1500 to 2500). they have said that monthly charges are rs.675(). but the renew is only rs.561 incl of 12.24 tax. they said that rs.100 were maintainance charges(line charges) and pounced tax on that too.....
The story begins here. they have given receipt for the amt paid by me(provider is a reputed leading electronics and airtel dealer in our city).the point i dont like is the maintainance charges took from me. one week passed off nicely. on nov 11, the connection refused(error is BB101). the connection **** for two days.after contacting the cto cstmr exec he have forwarded my prob to sify. but the problem is with ofc laid to my area ashok nagar(on that day other area called venkat nagar customers faced this prob). they said that the OFC of these two areas were damaged and they were set right.from 13 nov to next day morning there is no prob again. it started fukin me again. since 14 nov to 29 nov there is no connectivity they have done wrong work of laying fibre. they have damaged again and again. i have a frequent calls to cto and sify abt my prob. i got very tensed in this period.i have called that sales exec too. no one lifts their fones. after 20 or 30 times i call them they lift the fones(technicians...... useless fellows). but the cto cust exec were felt very guilty to answer my call..... but they tried their best.
On nov 29 the connection got back to good condition.when i have asked them for compensation(i have asked them for compensation which i have lost from 11 nov to 28 nov) but they gave only for 11 days(coz they said they will give from the date of complaint taken from me).again there is a twist. they gave compensation only for 9 days(7 day demo pack and 2 day unlimited pack).i have putup a case against this. but there is no response, since the complaint putup date(30 nov). SO beware of sify broadband.........sometimes i feel that dialup is better than broadband(after this experience)...
