    Sorry.
    1.
If you have to use a dialer to connect to Satyam Broadband
( Rj45 cable straight to Computer ethernet port ), to enable WIFI mode may not be possible.
    NEW solution
However if you have Windows 7 OS and in desktop or laptop a wlan card is available, an application called connectify will make the Desktop or laptop as an access point for other systems to connect ( in RANGE).
    UPDATE:
seeTataindicom forum for a similar setup. You have to dial ISP from the wifi router. (PoE modem Plus wifi router Linksys WRT120N)
modem ahead of wifi router details awaited.

    See No 7 below. also.
    5.
Anyway when connected to SIFY, check ipconfig /all data.
as the DNS Gateway details are required.

You dont need a modem for sify! You are probabbly talking about a wifi router to create a wireless network at home.

Just buy any cheap wifi router and enter the ip and dns details provided by sify into your router and on your PC kep it on automatic mode and you should ideally get your sify login page wher you can enter your login details and it should work just fine allowing other equipment to connect ot the net using your router.

I dont know any way to bypass the login page so you will need to login using your computer to run other stuff as well.

    Hope this helps.

You will need to call them and get your router's mac address registered. From what I remember you can get two addresses regitered.

Its very simple and straight farward.

Buy your router and make a note of the settings sify supplied you which you can find in your pc's connection properties :
IP address, subnet mask, default gateway and two DN addresses. Now you can plug in the router and enter those settings into your router and change your computer's settings to automatic for both ip and dns.

Once you have done all the above then call customer care and get the to register you new mac address... You will need to keep your router plugged in with sify's cable when you request sify as they can see your new MAC without you having to provide it yourself... it normally takes a few mins but might take an hour or so depending on how busy thy are.

Based on @ Admins's suggestion about MAC addresses I could get this link, (via Google search) which explains step by step procedure.
    Please try and give feedback.
