Seems Sify has finally cleaned up their act Hi all,
If you have read my previous posts in this forum, you would have got an idea of the nightmarish experience I had at the hands of Sify customer care, Sify CTOs, and Sify technicians. I had been waiting for almost 2 weeks for somebody to call or turn up at my house to fix the problem of slow downloading or virtually not able to download any file larger than 25 MB inspite of paying for an unlimited broadband connection (this is in Hyderabad). In between, a Sify technician convinced us the problem was with our OS and LAN card, which we duly got reformatted and changed, respectively, but still the problem persisted and there was no followup after that. I finally got really fed up and looked up the Sify website and sent a very irate mail to everybody whose email IDs were given there, from the Hyderabad office to the broadband connections head and customer service head and appellate authority and nodal authority in delhi, and finally customer care too. Virtually anybody and everybody whose email ID was there. Result? Within 5 hours, they sent a much more responsible and knowledgeable engineer to my home. He fixed the problem in about 3 hours, admitting that the problem was not with our LAN or OS, but with the media converters and hub that the CTOs had installed in our colony. After this, I also got a call from the Hyderabad office (manager, I think) asking if someone had attended to my complaint and to top it all of, today morning, for the very first time, I got a call from customer care asking if my connection was working and if there were any further problems! Was I shocked at the sudden turnaround and yes, in spite of having to wait 2 weeks and go through unnecessary trouble reformatting and changing the LAN card, etc etc., it was a pleasant surprise to get such prompt and courteous followup after my emails. I sent them an email of appreciation with of course, the reminder that all this drama could have been avoided if they had just attended to my complaint seriously in the first instance. Anyway, I am happy with my connection and speed now and there's no download problem. I guess in India, if you want to make things happen, you gotta know the email IDs of a few influential heads...then again, all it takes is a lil' snooping around to get those |
