Rep Power: 0 | After around 4 hours of troubleshooting I got my wireless working with my sify connection and i did not need to call sify for help. This is how the configuration works, follow it if you can: 1.Go to the router settings and change the IP address of your router to the default gateway provided to you by sify. (You will need to do this for this to work) 2.On your local area connection, force the IP address default gateway and the subnet mask provided to you by sify. 3.Set your wireless adapter with a forced IP address(control panel, network connections, right click wireless adapter, TCP/IP, Properties), Provided to you by sify. After forcing the IP address, turn-off your wireless(if you have a wireless switch on your laptop). Also Disable the wireless connection. 4.Connect your sify ethernet cable to your laptop. Use the sify dialer to connect. (Careful here!) ->as soon as you connect, you will see the sify homepage open. Close this page before it loads, or this will not work. 5.Once you are conected, remove the ethernet cable, connect the ethernet cable to the wireless router. Disable your ethernet connection. 6.Turn on your wireless switch on your laptop, Enable your wireless network. Scan for your wireles network and connect to it. 7.If you have done this right. You wil be surfing thru your wireless connection, like i am right now. 8.Once you are done with your wireless, logout from the sify dialer. turn-off your wireless switch on your laptop and disable the wireless connection from control panel. To reconnect you will need to follow steps 4 till 7 Tell me if you don't understand anything on this post. Also tell me if this works for you. |

Rep Power: 10 | You dont need to repeat step 4-7 every time.. all you need to do is call sify with your sify cable plugged into the router and they will register your routers mac address Sify only allows access from the mac addresses which are registered so you do need to call them up once |
