Thumbs down Dont ever fall into the SIFY trap. Worst service

I wanted to post my bad experience even though there are numerous other posts enumerating the same for:
1. When I was trying to research for sify BB, i couldnt find any releavant forum and ended up buying the worst BB.
2. I want to emphasize to the new netizens that sify really sucks and it is a common experience for all sify customers.

I opted for sify BB 128 KBPS unlimted in August as sify and BSNL are the only providers in my area. As the sify guy promised immediate connection ("for people who hate to wait") I paid the Rs1000/- installation and first month fee. Things went smooth only till this point and after that it was excruciating.

The internet worked for just 4 days after which it gave up connectivity by giving "BB101: Unable to reach gateway error". Called up sify to have a convincing answer of "it will get rectified in 24 hrs". After 2 days as no one turned up, called them back again and got the same answer. From then on, I would call up customer care every other day to get the same answer (ofcourse after being put on hold of 10-15 mins). I wonder how those customer care executives can give the same shameless answer. I even threatened to disconnect and refund my money but it didnt seem to have any effect. After few days of persistent calling, one day to my surprise i got an answer that "the problem is resolved 2 days back". Uff... but its nto the case. I tried e-mailing in the sify contact us but there is no response either.

After 20 days of all this calls, atlast, they had sent one technical person to my home who identified the problem as "low voltage for the gateway at local CTO office". He said he rectified the problem and atlast I was able to connec to the net after 20 days of waiting. But the happiness is short lived as it went down again after 4 days. I am still trying to explain those dumb customer care guys to talk to CTO but of no use...

I finally decided I have had enough and now i plan to shift to BSNL.

Word of advise for all new peopel thinking of sify: Dont even think of trying sify. It sucks and is the worst unprofessional broadband with filthy dumb customer care executives.
