    Default Is it possible?

    Hello everybody!

I am a total n00b when it comes to networking.

    So I need your help.

I want to connect 2 PCs in my room to the internet at the same time using 2 different sify accounts to do a lot of downloading.

But I want to know if it is possible with only one CAT5 cable coming into my room from the cable operator's office?

I have no need for wi-fi & also do not need to share resources between the 2 PCs.

I would be very grateful if anyone could advise me with the simplest solution to my problem.

Thanks in advance for any any help.

Thanks a lot for your prompt reply.

I thought maybe some kind of networking device installed in my room would make it possible.

I guess I have no other option than to get another CAT5 cable installed & connect it to another port in the cable operator's hub at a great cost.

    Thanks again.

What is your budget ? Rs 1000/= Rs 2000/= ?
Any way extra Rj45 cables needed to connect additional computers using a SWITCH or Wifi router to a single account. at same time .

My cable operator charges Rs 3,000/= for laying a new cable in addition to Rs 1,200/= per year in line maintenance charges (LMC).

I thought this extra expenditure could be avoided if could manage with my existing cable.

However I already have a NetGear router (WGR614) to use with my laptop in addition to 2 lengths of 3-metre long CAT5 patch cables to connect the 2 desktops in a typical Wi-Fi-Router-based LAN.

The extra internet connection which I planned to use simultaneously for downloading is paid for separately by my company.

Also I did not want to bother with the complexities of bridging 2 connections to achieve a higher speed.
