Default 1002kbps?? in 128k unlimited pack?

Last night i was surfing and suddenly a video i was downloading completed in 6 minutes (25MB). I thought it was corrupted so I tried again. The video worked.
For 1 file i was getting 100kbps actual download speed, for 2 files 600kbps and when i added the third file it reached 1002kbps.
I could'nt believe it. Right now i get some 17kbps actual speed.
This started at 1:30am on Nov 10 and ended at 7:30 am in (that's right, i stayed awake the whole night) Pune, Maharashtra. I downloaded some 14 GB of data(thats what my network connections properties showed).
Was this a fluke? Or was there some testing going on?
Is this what we can actually get if they open the floodgates???

Default any way to take advantage of it?

Now having gotten a taste of real broadband, is there any way to bring it back?
Have done some googling, but it seems quite complex.

    Default Me too.

Yeah, I've experienced this before as well. But strangely enough, only on my (previous) unlimited 128kbps connection and not on the (current) unlimited 256kbps connection.
I used to get speeds up to 112kB for about 4-5 hours at night...

Do not expect to see these speed that often. There must had been some problem back in there hub otherwise they are very much particular about to give low and worst speeds to us.

Even I have experienced such spike in speeds in BSNL, especially during nightime. It is nothing but a flash in the pan effect which can experienced by the users at various time period, but most of the time it occurs during night, where the usage is less. That was a good idea of you of staying awake and using that speed and downloading as much you can, becuase if you had at least even restarted your system, that speed would have been got lost.

it's lucky to get approximately 1Mbps with 128kpbs plan...
but this thing possibly happens because of few reasons:
    - the provider actually provide a larger package but they didn;t announce it to play safe
    - due to traffic error, you have crossed the others line.
    - traffic is less at night so you get to download more
    - R & D and you're the lucky one who get the random test.
there mioght be some more reason, but this is what i can tell based on experience

    hi ,
there is a golden rule :
    nothing comes free my friend!!!
that awsome speed that you were getting was not from the internet as it looked, it was from one of your colony person who was on the same subscriber unit(SU) from sify.
which means that you were downloading data from a virtual LAN
you can try what's new section of limewire.... people under "ethernet" tag are your colony people.
i hope it helps in future

    Talking

it happened to me yesterday, speed suddenly spiked to 300kbps upload/download between 5am-7am on 6th jan. using 256k unlimited in mumbai/

That means these barstards do have sped with them, maybe they are regulating/slowing it down to loot us with tariff plan shits.

Can someone know how to hacker this sify brodyband and get 100k+ speed again, thank u

LOL is that why you are up at 4AM in th morning

I dont think there is a way to get more speed then an isp allows you to have according to your plan which you pay for.

Try some other isp like MTNL or airtel if you want more speed as they have got 2mbps and now 8 mbps plans as well.

Actually the forex market opens at 3:30am and also to check up on my need4speed nayya walla dowload.. damn i feel like a sucker waiting for the game dvd torrents to finish - 24hours left.....12hours.....6hours now . maybe today morning ill get to play it.

Im going nuts to play high end games since i bought geforce 8600 card hahaha.

Usually i just need 128-256k 15-30k is more than enough to get my metatraders connected , what i need is more reliability with connection up, don't care if sped up/down but pls ... internet must remain connected 24/7 or else ill lose more money than what i pay 4 this internet. And this sify bordband is a champion at pissing me off, believe me in one day i get get disconnected by their software at least dozen times.

pls if you can link me to airtel website, ill be glad.

    have a grat day!

I have got a reliance data card for that matter to make sure I am connected at all times and it only costs Rs650 a month which is not too much to make sure you are connected 24/7

By the way I am on sify as well and I have been downloading total war for the last 15 days still about a week left ...
