    Default Try giving tip(Rs 100) to your sify lineman

    hi,
    i am not writing coz i love sify or something like that
    i just wanna share my experience about sify
    i hav read a lot on this website which has made me register
    and give my views
    i use sify (plan EY56) 256kbps unlimited 24 X 7
    it costs 1122(rent) + 100(maintaince) + 100(tip)
    i have taken the personal number of the lineman
    and i call him up on that no if anything goes wrong
    my Rs 100 tip works!!!!!
    yup, sometimes it goes horrible.... but the service is about 80% working.
    better than mtnl...

    Why pay 100 bucks each month??? Is there that number of problems??

    And did u try MTNL?? I think its better and other people also say so..

    Well i guess am lucky then. I dont tip my lineman !! But i enjoy good service from BSNL.

    I guess you are right, tipping has become an integral part of some who is service eighther be it government or private companies these days. Almost every one is expecting to be tipped. I have had such instances many times with BSNL and my Airtel landline too. If we don't pay them, they will not come to our place next time, if any fault arise. This is how india has become the most corrupted nation in this whole world!!

    first of all dont think its bette than mtnl...coz mntl is on adsl2+ technologoy which very hardly goes down whereas on the other hand sify is on cable which has all types of probs...water cmg through them and what not

    i dont hav any personal issues with MTNL as a company
    but u may call it just my mindset
    that i think that a "sarkari" thing cannot compete with a private company
    all my frnz are on mtnl (limited MB plans = using which they do not use internet during the last days of the month!!!{espically orkut}) and they say its ok ok
    256 kbps gives u only 14 - 19 as a download speed
    3 - 4 days not working in a month
    u know u will hav problems with every ISP
    but its the service and the connection speed that matters
    its actually 50% sify
    and 50% ur local cable operator
    so dont blame it totally on sify

    Now thats not a very good idea. You are transforming sify into a sarkari company now with your bribing and all.
    You surely get the attention of the cable operators line man but then doesnt that mean that in the long run when more and more people start giving the same Rs100 to him then there will be a point that you would have to pay him 200 just to make sure that he is still as much attentive to your problems as he was before when no one else was bribing him?

    i never said that giving money is the only soluton.
    i keep my girl friend's younger brother busy with a packet of CLASSIC CIGGERETTES when i am dating her
    its not about money or anything
    its about judging the persons weekness and working according to it.....
    if everyone starts giing a tip of Rs 100
    then i will think of something that might give me an edge above the rest

    but that line man expect from all and he may do a small problems to all who not gives tips

    i say dont give tips

    i never given any extra with my airtel 128kbs/699Rs plan which i using witoiut any problems ( also without tips )

    This is not that much of a good thing. Just keep contact with your local sify technical representative and then you dont have to pay this 100 rupee tip every time.

    what the big F ............... he is paying 200 every month ............. so, what's the big in that

    mtnl offers only 600/Rs for that unlimited package and no others charge than that

    and u r paying 1200( package ) + 100 (lmc) + 100 (bribe) = 1400

    means for 1 year
    sify : 16800
    mtnl : 7200

    he he he

    what the big F in this just see frnds .................

    Well i have very good relationship with my CTO ... and he mostly solves all my problems 90 % of the time quickly....Without a tip

    Please suggest me as i am going to take sify wheather to take it or not since i have two options dvs and sify as tried dvs they are not good at service so i choose this please suggest what to do:50:

    i was with sify it was the worst, simply the worst i have ever had in my life, i am having bsnl now, no probs so far, it has been 5 months, while with sift i used to have connectivity only for 10 days a month

    I have a Sify connection, and it is total crap, at times i go without a connection, and when i ring their customer service the local cable guy comes after 3 days! I don't give any tips to the cable guy, don't see why i should, hes getting paid and got his own business!

    Tipping the lineman 100Rs? Its good that its working for you and he solves all your problems quickly... The 100rs isnt an issue but the idea behind 'tipping the lineman' is. Where does it end? What if tomorrow he decides that he wants 200Rs? They are already charging money for line maintainance, and I dont believe I have to grease the hands of the lineman for something which Im paying for anyway.

    Pls dont ever take up sify. Pathetic CTO service. It is more than 1.5 months.. I get the Error BB101.     I used BSNL for more than a year in Bangalore. Never once I would have spoke to the customer care. Now in Pune am going through hell with sify.. The main reason is the CTO / LCO (Local Cable operator). Error BB101.

    You can get various reasons from the LCO for non connectivity like Rat bit the Cable, UPS Problem, Network cable problem, server problem, switch problem, rain problems. And finally you can also get to hear that your computer's anti virus problem..

    I have very good network in the office to get my Lap top repaired, in case if there is any problem. If the LCO are doing this to the customer who is working for software company.. I can imagine how they should be treating others who are not a tech savy.

    this is true and trust me these CTO people think that they know everything about computers. Thats the main reason i canceled sify and migrated to tata wimax and facing no problems with it, its working good from last 3 months and without even a single minute of downtime
    I suggest you to cancel sify and get BSNL, Tata or airtel. BSNL is available in Pune and works good
