Red face Sify broadband with Netgear WGR614 v7

    Hi,

I just joined this forum with lots of hope and anticipation. I have been trying to configure my sify broadband with this wifi router for a while now. But og no avail. Though I did some googling and got some relevant results. Like this one: Arvind T M: wifi at home with netgear .

The problem is whenever am trying to connect to 192.168.1.1 its not getting through. I am faltering at the first step. The accompanying resource CD with this hardware is a complete waste!!! I have done the connection exactly in the way shown above. Can any one pls pls guide me step by step as to how to configure my router for sifyBB.

Thanks to this forum, I was able to configure the router. Tonight's challenge will be to do the same in Linux.

the very first thing you need to do to connect your router on sify is to call sify care to get your routers mac registered with sify, after that you can configure your router normally and it should work fine without any issues..
but still if you face any problem please post here.. and i am sure that you will get a resolution very soon...

(you can register only 2 mac addresses with sify so i suggest you to keep your one computers mac registered so that if you face any problems with router then also you can use sify dialer on your main computer to connect anytime in any situation)
