I switched to Sify recently and got the 3 month 256kps Family pack.. the one where we get 150MB everyday.. ok question 1.. when I check to see whether I exceeded the limit or not, I go to Session Details.. in that Session Details table theres a column that shows Opening Balance and Closing Balance.. now the entries in that column are steadily decreasing every day.. I want to know What exactly are those entries.. when I first started it was 4000 or something . Now its 932.. what happens if it reaches zero?? I've never exceeded my 150MB/day limit.

Question 2.. whats happened to my download speed.. i only get a 12kpbs download speed when I should be getting about 30.. even for torrents and limewire.. and direct downloads.. i use firefox.. it used to be 30 just a week ago..

4000 to 932.... sounds more like ur per day Rs balance is being deducted by them. cos i had used sify before. so if u say u stayed within 150MB/per day then it shud be ok...

so when did u get this sify connection installed?

they normally deduct 33 bucks a day for ur usage so 4000 divide by 120 days and u get 33.33Rs per day.

so calculate how many days have passed from the time they first gave u ur new package of 150MB/day. and then multiply that by 33.33!!

and the slow speed must be because of their server probs. probably if u phone them up they will tell u it depends on which sites u visit and what u download and how many users are also in ur area and a whole bunch of baloney like they told me but i didnt believe their **** cos i knew their servers cant handle the load of excessive use.

and plus they cap the speed so that they can distribute equal bandwidth to everybody who is on the network at the same time. So that cud also be the reason y u r getting only 12kbps sometimes!!

and i calculated... IT SEEMS THAT U HAVE ONLY 28 DAYS LEFT FOR UR USAGE TO FINISH. SO THATS CLOSE TO A MONTH.

I have read some article on DOT or TRAI webpage saying that any Broadband connection in India should have 256kbps otherwise the service will not be treated as BB service. Now are you using Broadband of sify??? If yes then download the page from the site (DOT or TRAI) show them and tell them you should get a download speed of 28 - 32KB/s. If still they do not improve the service then lodge complain.

players playerthats correct actly its your daily money balance they decuct... and for your plan day balance is 33.33 so they will decuct that much from your account daily.. and if you exceed 150MB any day then they will deduct additional 33.33 from your account...

robert you are correct bro... the minimum speed for a broadband connection in india is 256kbps but i m not sure why sify can not understand this as they are providing 128kbps connection too on broadband plan
