Thread: Need Help on seting up the Netgear Wireless router with Sify

Hi All,

I am in despreate need of help to setup my Netgear wireless router with my sify connection. I tried every possible way i know to setup the same but its all in vain. I too pissed of, Plzzzzz Help Me.

What exactly is the problem? Remember you can set up a wireless router on Sify, though you will still need a comp for you to login/logout on sify server.

hey guys thanx a lot, howere the problem was resolved by the netgear team itself. they help me thru the whole settings and my system is working on wireless. thats cool. i will surely rate netgear service 10/10

Can u pls help me that how did u solve ur problem.
as i also have a sify internet connection.I am using that in the foll way.
Same user id offered for 2 places (1 home & 1 office) which is in the same locality. They have offfered me 2 connections with the same userid & by releasing the 2 different MAC id on my 2 machines.Now i have recently got a Laptop for me which i want to use , but they say that i'll have to cance, any one of my connection & so they will bind the new MAC Address of my Laptop.
But i want to use both the connection & also use the laptop via the same connection, so i also got a Netgear Router,so that on 1 of my Home connection, with the help of router, i can use either my Desktop or the Laptop via the same Sify connection.
so can you please help me how to configure the Netgear router so that i can use it.
Ur help will be appreciated.

i am currently using my laptop and my Desktop in tandem using WiFi (Netgear Router).
first off all You need to change your router mac. add. to the one of the computer from which you are registered to sify and use the dialer to login to sify.
after treat your router addresses as you would put in your sify Ip addreses etc.
in your computer make it dhcp enabled with router add as the gate way.
after that u should login using your computer as normal, and then do not logout even if u r shuting down the PC.
u should be able to connect through your laptop now using WiFi.
