Default Torrents not working on sify broadband

Just noticed that sify **** faces have now blocked a lot of ports which are normally used by trackers and one of the most widely used port is 6969 which is now blocked by sify.

Although it is illegal for sify to do so but then who would bell the cat? most guys who use torrents use it to download either movies or music or videos od an adult nature... and this keeps them shut and they dont even complain

So here is what you all can do

For those who use utorrents :

Go to Options > preferences > connections > You must now see an option of proxy servers all you need to do is :

Type : http
proxy : ip address of the proxy server
port : proxy servers port number

You can get some good free proxy servers details here

This will work for sure.. but make sure you choose a good proxy.

If you use some other client please shout here and I will be happy to to guide you step by step on how to set it up in that client.
Please be nice and post a link to your clients download site with your request.

Thanks

and a little thank you post would keep this place more lively if this post has helped you

Thanks again

Try a different client like ABC or Utorrents and also have you tried a proxy?

I am also using the 256 day and 512kbps night unlimited pack and I am getting a constant speed of 60kbps+ at night for both torrents and http downloads but for torrents I have to use a proxy and you can also use one as described in the first post.

The list of proxies appears down below and you have to enter the captcha thing first... scroll down on that page and you will get it.

Posting proxies here wont help as mostly when people start using a proxy for trackers then proxy owners block access to those ip addresses to save bandwidth so you will have to keep looking for new proxies every 2-3 days.

No I cant send you an e-mail and I doubt if anyone else would do that either. If you are still not able to get a proxy from the above mentioned site please provide the details of what the issue is and we will all try and resolve it for you.

Try using different proxies as some of them dont work.. keep trying untill you find one that works.

It might stop working after a few days and all you need to do is change the proxy again and it will start working again.
