Thumbs down Sify Broadband=bundle of problems

    Hi friends,

I am using Sify broadband as i had no other option which may prudent for me.

I first got cable lan based connection by paying 1500 and monthly charges of 281 for 400 MB download plan. There was lots of connectivity problems due to cable and finally the franchise ended in endup of it.

Now after about six months, i got another sify connection via another franchise which is well established but far away from my home and we discussed about my need and we decided to go forward with antenna based sify connection for which I paid 3000 for antenna, receiver, and adaptor and I got connected everything was okay for initial 10 days with excellent speed, but now for the last 10 days or so there is frequent disconnection in net and no connectivity due to antenna setting changes caused by wind and birds sitting on the antenna. I asked for franchise for this and they come and fixed the antenna but with not so as at first with 44 signal as now only 32 but the problem is same and I asked them once again and they will come as soon as possible.

I read somewhere in this forum that it may be due to rainy season as here is heavy rainy season in Lucknow.

The other concern is that the franchise is taking 100 rupees extra for maintenance charge per renewal.

I have heard this quite often. The problem is not really Sify but the cable operators that provide Sify connection that are to blame. Be that as it may, Sify needs to pull up the operators and take corrective measures - but I guess that they don't wish to bother about trivial (read 'home') customers.

ya just4kix is correct the problem is not sify... main problem is cable providers... they dont know anything and take 100 rupees extra every month as line maintanance...

i have already sent a mail to cancel with all the problems listed...

please check my post and tell sify about this... there are very few chances they will do anything about it.. coz i sent that mail long time back and never got any good reply from sify (which i can call as resolution)

read my post http://www.indiabroadband.net/sify-b...ncel-sify.html (Mail to Cancel Sify..)

    Hi Friends,

    Thanks for your reply.

" main problem is cable providers... they dont know anything and take 100 rupees extra every month as line maintanance" is quite well said.

Actually the problem was rain and proper setting of antena.

One would suprise that there was about one glass water in the main device (router ?) that was accidently found by me and i was always saying that there is some conduction problem in the antena, but they were adjusting the antena towards their tower and accidently one notice water and removed it and it worked wonderfully and i take caution for further water collection in the antena.

Now i am getting signal of 49 while previously it was only 7 to 30

as i already said that there is no problem in sify price plans and technology... but the problem is local cable providers.... most of these cable providers are awaara type people who got lot of money but no mind...
