| Hi, I am a new Sify BB user and have been using it for the past 5 days.I know this is too early to pass judgement on Sify but anyways i decided to write my experiences ...Do check this space as i will try and keep it updated with all the major happenings ... I opted for Sify after receiving a favorable review from one of my friends who uses it and lives a few apartment blocks away from me...I did not have much choice as there was just BSNL and Sify in my area.I had applied twice for BSNL but its been six months since..So i had to opt for Sify... My friend and i share an apartment ..we both go out at 8am and are back only by 6 pm...so we called our area CTO and told him to come before 8 am the next morning...And next day he turned up at 7:15 am explained to us all the plans and went of with half the money as advance... As promised he got us the connection and the user id and password within 2 days of his coming ..Speeds have been gr8...My friend who lives a few blocks away has reported an avg downtime of 2/3 days per month...He even got his validity extended(Unlimited connection) whenever the downtime was more than a day!.... For the past 5 days, i have experienced a downtime 0f 1 night ...it was serviced promptly within an hour of attending my call the next morning(read my previous post)... I also got a call from customer care he gave me his number and also offered to install an antivirus ,which i politely refused....If my CTO did not respond to my calls he told me to report to him personally... Overall i am impressed with their services thus far.I am hoping this continues. Pros Prompt action from CTO and CC Very good speeds Doesn't seem to be effected by rain or any other weather conditions Cons Bleeds mb during surfing .No way of actively tracking your usage.Limited connections could be a problem. Customer care do not pick up the phone after 10 pm(contrary to their 24/7 support claim) Annoying pop up adverts from sify. Loads Sify home page everytime u login. Conclusion:Not bad ....I have seen worse.....the pros outweighs the cons will keep this space updated Regards, Eddy |

| I have just completed 2 weeks of Sify connection ...3 times my conection went down 1st time (check last post) it was a BB 101 error -Problem with the the switch was promptly serviced 2nd time BB 108 error -This came right after a 4 hour power shut down in my city for ....My CTO said it was due to their backup power running out at their office ....This too was promptly serviced.... 3d time BB101 error again - This error is def not at my end and has nothing to do with backup power....have to call him(CTO) up tomoro and check it out as he switches off the phone at night. |

| Aditya | i know this BB101 is something which is very common error with sify and that is just coz of local network.. if you check troubleshoot suggested by sify, it says restart your computer but it will never help you and there are lot many other error messages which dont come like that... and other common error messaeg is BB108 which comes up only if ethernet is not connected and obvious we dont try to connect after unplugging ethernet cable from computer.. so again problem with Local Provider (the same rocket scientist will come back for help and rescue operation) |

| well the previous BB101 error was due to some server problem at the Sify central Office or thats what he said Sify BB101 error was promptly serviced was using this evening .... But came back again tonight ....now its BB108 .....BULL **** |

| Hi, Well connection went down for 2 days straight .....went and personally checked the central office....Their hardware was down .....Did some hard talking and it promptly came up....Now its working fine for the past few days very good speeds ....They seem to be responding to customer feedbacks ...so lets see ... |

| Aditya | no help for me till now.. 11 days gone.. called sify once again for same issues and the sify associate said.. dont worry just wait for 12 working hours and will take care of this issue. I m not sure what kind of service they are providing and how they are getting new connection... i really dont advice anyone to go for sify connection now.. if sify is the last option then its better to stay without internet but big NO NO to sify |

| Yeah, been checking out your thread Well yesterday i just set up my computer to download a heavy file at night using Download Accelerator pro and went to sleep after about 28 % was downloaded .... I wake up in the morning expecting the file to have completed download But i find that only 30 % has been complete and there is a cute error message nearby stating " Sorry xxx(My username) ur session has expired , we regret the inconvinience " i am like " wtf ? I thought i had a night unlimited plan " how can my session get expired during unlimited plan period.....I have a generous amount of balance left in my account...... Got seriously pissed out and took it out on their customercare ....They said they would call again .....that was like hours ago ..... |

Rep Power: 3 | Sify CC is gr8, but the speeds suck. Also the fact that u can't share the connection. I changed over to Airtel, which rocks. |

| Yeah U hit the Bull's eye the the service depends on the CTO ...and in my area he s good ....Still not convinced with the service .....but i had just 2 unenviable options as far as BB is concerned ,Sify and BSNL ... You cant log in without the Sify BB client ....i do have it and check the usage ...But the prob is tat , it is not dynamically updated .....u can check the current balance only during the next login. |

Rep Power: 2 | sify has been harassing me from a long time..its the worst isp in india and i can bet on that.. there is so much connectivity issues that u just can't prevent urself 4m scratching ur head evryday.. these sify people are real fu***** my advice with evryone.. jst dn't take this pathetic service.. |

| Hi, Man this sucks ....they log me out after 4/5 hours of continuous usage ...i am unable to work/download large files as both these activities demand an 'always ON' internet |

Rep Power: 12 | Yes sify has this problem of logging users out after a few hours... but some times I have noticed that I dont get logged out even for 24 hours some times... I havent been able to find out how and why this happens... Any one got any clue on this? |
