I have been using the Satyam Broadband connection in Mumbai since Jan 2002. For about 14 months they provided excellent services with average download speed of 8KBps (sometimes more), unlimited downloading and good customer support. On the yearly plan it cost me just Rs800 a month. However , recently they have targeted few select customers (like me) who had monthly download over 1 GB. Suddenly, after assuring an unlimited package they have changed their policies. This is appalling for a company of their stature. They now charge an exorbitant Rs 700 for 300MB. In Feb 2003 when I renewed by account for 1 yr I had no knowledge of this change. Once we are committed they have exploited the consumers. By resorting to such a dirty game they have totally lost credibility amongst a good number of users like me. Despite, their good infrastructure I wouldn’t recommend their service purely because of their policies.
