    Default Sify has good speed

I am using Sify broad band for last 5-6 months. I am getting good speed.
The speed depends on which package you take. There are different packages available, in which high speed has more cost, low speed has lowe cost, so it depends on you.

Basicaly the service depends on the local service provider in you area & bandwidth depends on Sify. But even if you are not doing any activity, still few bites goes on consumed... how I do not know.

Sify should provied ’’Pause’’ in there software so that we can save those bites.
Evenif you are just surfing through the different web sites, you loose many bites.... why so I do not know. But overall speaking compare to dial up..... Broad band is the best. About customer care by Sify ..... it’s OK.

I think that Positive points about Sify Broad Band are more thatn Negative points............ It’s Ok yar........ Every coin has two sides.

I think Sify should provide some kind of meter so that we can keep a constant watch on bites. It should appear at some corner of screen.

whatever it be, you spend a lot on Sify. Airtel's Broadband is the cheapest. bsnl's broadband is the fastest. I rate Sify the lowest. it was giving me a sucking 2kbps when they've promised me for a 32kbps speeds for a 256kbps connection. So, that isn't fair about sify. it sucks and it is a suck.

You said it depends on us? explain to me how. Can I change my speed from the damn 2kbps download to the real 32? huh. I know u don have an answer.

And and..how can you say that Sify is better over a Dial-up connection?
though not very good at downloading, dial-up connections give a speed around 20-30kbps constant. the browsing too is very fast. whereas in sify, if the page isn't there in the cookies, we have to wait for atleast a 15 sec. minimum. and as I told you, the downloads with sify are at 2kbps.

I don't give a damn about the Customer care..be it good or bad. They take the complaints. the local sp doesn't care to take a damn about them.

    U said:

that becomes pure compromise with Sify. when other providers seem to be crystal clear, why do we take the coin? a coin with two sides.

Remember. before compromising, please see if you have any alternatives.

I agree with you that sify sucks but for the last one month I havent had any downtime atall.. I do get logged out if I work for more then 7-8 hours at one go but all I need to do it restart the sify client and it starts working again

I hope it stays like this.

i dont know whats wrong with sify from last few days its working fine for me without any disconnection and providing a good speed on an average i m getting about 500+ kbps speed and sometimes it shoot up to 600 or 650kbps...

trust me on this sify is not a bad provider but these local cable providers are putting it into deep ****... and just because of local providers and some of sify tech support guys we think that sify is not a good option...

if sify can work on this local cable providers problem then it could be a good provider...

I also believe that sify is not that bad. I find almost negligible downtime in sify as I just shout at the local sify operators a few hundred metres away from my place if my internet does not work properly. They come quickly and resolve my problem.

I have not used DSL till date but I know that DSL line would not be active if power is down although with sify the internet is always up and my laptop works non stop.

I also get good speeds with sify which is same as other networks UL plans. So, overall its not excellent but that bad an experience too.
