Rep Power: 4  |  Patchy service, good only when it lasts I’ve been using Sify broadband in Bangalore for about 8 months. When the service is up - it’s fabulous - good bandwidth, instant connectivity, value for money etc. However the last mile connectivity is a royal pain with Sify taking no responsibility for that part of the story. My last mile link has been down for over 3 weeks now (wonder whether I even have broadband at home), with no answers from the local guy, or from Sify. Now that the local guy has fixed the local problem - Sify servers are down for the last FIVE (5) days. Unbelievable, but here’s a national grade ISP, whose servers are down for 5 days, and they don’t have a clue. I would not recommend Sify broadband for anyone who wants a serious option. 2 of my friends are on Sify broadband as well, and they’re much worse off that I am!! Go for sify only if: 1. You desparately need broadband (good quality when it’s available) 2. Don’t mind going back to dialup every now and then 3. Don’t mind if the service is down for 10 days in a month 4. Don’t mind non-existent customer service |
