Microsoft warns users to avoid third party fixes for Internet Explorer Microsoft warns users to avoid third party fixes for Internet Explorer
Yet another critical flaw was detected in the world’s most used web browser and Microsoft is late again in releasing a patch. The company is due to release their monthly bug fixes on the April 11 and has not made it clear if the patch for the bug found in Internet Explorer browser would be released earlier.
This resulted in two security companies to release their own unofficial patches to fix this problem. Microsoft has warned the users of IE against these patches saying that they cannot vouch for whether they will work smoothly with Microsoft products and other applications.
However, the providers of these third party patches argue that the company needs to be fast releasing patches for applications, which are as heavily used as the Internet Explorer. Marc Maiffret, chief hacking officer with eEye Digital Security Inc. said in a statement: “It’s kind of like having the cure and not sharing it with anybody.” |
