Confirmed news is that Sony is providing FREE upgrade from Vista to Win 7 for its VAIO Notebooks/Desktops purchased in 2009.
I have no idea about others. But I guess they will follow too.
Yet to hear such kind of offer from Microsoft.
just now gone through PC world, and it says HP and Lenovo will give free upgradation from vista home premium to windows 7.
Why don't Dell follow them?![]()
I've HP, So how do i do it?
its valid only for vista which were/are being sold with such an offer. ie not all vista's can be upgraded for free.
M$ did announce such an offer, but i don't think its there in India. prolly it will be through OEM's / PC suppliers
hmmmnnn....
lets see. i m keeping my fingers crossed.
you can Check it out.
There is catch out there. they will provide updates to the qualifying customers only. don't know what does it mean.
That means - "Customers must purchase PCs between July 2009 and Jan. 1, 2010, and will be eligible to receive upgrades through next March 31."
yeah!!!
I am not eligible then.
I'm sorry to hear that... But I guess Microsoft is providing upgrade to Win 7 from Vista at a discounted price... Read that article carefully... Its one time investment... But worth it! Vista is horrible...
@ Gothic
Even then you have to pay some amount to M/S...
I am happy with vista. And moreover I don't wanna cough up any sum for any other OS. All the application that I need runs smoothly without any hiccups. Never tried to test it vigorously. I tried running Eclipse,Oracle server and an application server simultaneously and it didnt disappoint me.![]()
very much!!!
it's like i am content with it.![]()
