Default Which media player is good ?

I am using vlc player and gom player and found both are light and almost plays all formats in audio and videos. I wonder is there any other better or even lighter media players available, which is free too, kindly suggest it here.

    Smile Media Players

Which Media Player do you use the most ?

I use Windows Media Player 11 and GOM player . I also have many other Media players .But dont use them much .

I find Windows Media Player 11 's visualizations very good .... so i use it for playing audio songs and files.
But i find that it has limited Codecs and does not play many files[their codecs]

I find GOM player excellent for Playing Movies and videos .But not so good for audios.
And GOMs has a good collection of skins

If you want a Universal codec player then VLC is the answer as it plays the largest no of Codecs among media players.

Real Player is good but it has Adware and crapware that once installed can never be removed , even after uninstalling Real player it self so dont use it .

Winamp and power DVD come in handy sometimes .

I always use GOM player. It's more compilable to the video codecs than any other media player. I have tried Windows Media Player 11, Zoom Player Pro, Windows Media Player Classic, Ace Media Player, Winamp, Real Media Player, Quick Time, M Player, Total Video Player, CS Player, VLC Media Player and many others. But none of them was as good as GOM player. But I also like Windows Media Player 11 too.

GOM player is faster to load compared to other I have tried and have less bugs/errors. I use K-Lite Mega Codec Pack with it.

I've used these programs for a long time without much problems

Media Player Classic Homecinema - Link (A/V Player)
    ffdshow - Link (All-in-one codec)
foobar2000 - Link (Advanced audio player)

Also there is Real Alternative if you just want the RealMedia codecs without having to install RealPlayer.

If all the above don't work, I use mplayer

Yes Real Alternative olso known as Media player classic ... but you can combine it with GOM as it also doubles up as a codec..

If you cannot find ur media player post it like Cable Guy did

vlc is a gr8 multimedia player but it has some issues, like it is not gr8 at index management.
for this reason sometimes when u toy with the progress bar, it stops or shows garbled images ( mainly with mpeg1 video or DTS audio).
Try using Kmplayer. it looks like or works like GOM player. but it has more inbuilt codecs and plays DVD video too (GOM doesnt).

    ok,
if u try to play a 5.1 channel audio in 2.1 environment, it doesnt bloom.
other players take a default setting and play every audio in the same env.(it maybe 2,2.1,5.1,DTS 6) by tweaking with the channel list in vlc, u will find a quality that is finest.

it was first introduced in POWERDVD .
