i use k-lite codec pack
which used media player classic but is able to play most of the formats
VLC...look no further...it's small, cute and very easy to use. get it right now if you haven't already!
i m using GOM player and its a good one... as it can play almost all formats... and that is too with lot many good options which are not there in VLC
Which Media Player do you use the most ?
I use Windows Media Player 11 and GOM player . I also have many other Media players .But dont use them much .
I find Windows Media Player 11 's visualizations very good .... so i use it for playing audio songs and files.
But i find that it has limited Codecs and does not play many files[their codecs]
I find GOM player excellent for Playing Movies and videos .But not so good for audios.
And GOMs has a good collection of skins
If you want a Universal codec player then VLC is the answer as it plays the largest no of Codecs among media players.
Real Player is good but it has Adware and crapware that once installed can never be removed , even after uninstalling Real player it self so dont use it .
Winamp and power DVD come in handy sometimes .
I always use GOM player. It's more compilable to the video codecs than any other media player. I have tried Windows Media Player 11, Zoom Player Pro, Windows Media Player Classic, Ace Media Player, Winamp, Real Media Player, Quick Time, M Player, Total Video Player, CS Player, VLC Media Player and many others. But none of them was as good as GOM player. But I also like Windows Media Player 11 too.
GOM player is faster to load compared to other I have tried and have less bugs/errors. I use K-Lite Mega Codec Pack with it.
This is also a poll ..... you can Vote !
This Poll is Multiple Choice !
I use VLC player (Video) & Winamp (Audio).
Next I use is Media player classic. Apart from this I dont use any other player.
I hardly use Windows Media Player 11. GOM player, hearing for the 1st time.
Hows this GOM player?

my music player is not added in this![]()
I've used these programs for a long time without much problems
Media Player Classic Homecinema - Link (A/V Player)
ffdshow - Link (All-in-one codec)
foobar2000 - Link (Advanced audio player)
Also there is Real Alternative if you just want the RealMedia codecs without having to install RealPlayer.
If all the above don't work, I use mplayer![]()
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
I do not Know all the media players so given 2 choices
Others(Paid)
Others(free)
Yes Real Alternative olso known as Media player classic ... but you can combine it with GOM as it also doubles up as a codec..
If you cannot find ur media player post it like Cable Guy did![]()

If you use GOM Player, you wont use any other media player for watching movies or videos.

BTW: VLC is available for Linux but i really don't use that as totem is doing all the work for me have all the codec's installed for totem![]()
Mostly VLC and sometimes PowerDVD. I also have WinDVD and Windows Media Player is by default.

Am just the dreamer,,,, I dream my life away..:confused:
Well i only use the following softwares mostly, Winamp for mp3 s and for vidoes mostly K-Lite Mega Codec, other than that i use either Windows Media Player 11 or VLC player but mostly K-Lite Player cuz its simple and fast(reminds me of the Media Player v6, i used to call it the hidden version when i first found it, LOL).....
Life is short so enjoy it while you can.......:)
well i m a oldii , i still like the WMP 9
but mostly i use total video player , no matter what the format it can play it
I use winamp and GOM in windows and vlc and audacity in ubuntu..
Audacity is very good....
vlc is a gr8 multimedia player but it has some issues, like it is not gr8 at index management.
for this reason sometimes when u toy with the progress bar, it stops or shows garbled images ( mainly with mpeg1 video or DTS audio).
Try using Kmplayer. it looks like or works like GOM player. but it has more inbuilt codecs and plays DVD video too (GOM doesnt).
Vibes recommending a windows software. End of the world People. :scared:
I also recommend GOM Player.![]()
i started using VLC cause winamp made my comp slow and Real media player gave some funny error message with no video.
VLC was no complaints, so...![]()
ya i don't like windows but still if someone likes windows and need help then i feel good to offer support![]()
i use VLC and KMplayer..
For tips, tricks and HOW-TO's:

GOM don't create any problem but windows never loose a single chance to act or behave strange
yeah,
talk about lasting impressions......
windows and vibes, ganguly and greg.![]()
well i have used windows (classic and new) , windiv, VLC and another couple of them havent used ubuntu or gom so wouldnt know about those. VLC is good! and the sound is good too!
thats true, and only in vlc u can choose audio output channels directly from right click menu. its very useful feature.
ok,
if u try to play a 5.1 channel audio in 2.1 environment, it doesnt bloom.
other players take a default setting and play every audio in the same env.(it maybe 2,2.1,5.1,DTS 6) by tweaking with the channel list in vlc, u will find a quality that is finest.
it was first introduced in POWERDVD .
I have used many(except GOM)... but finally I narrowed down only on 2... Win classic & VLC... never got a video file unplayable after that...

Winamp is also a well-know freeware.
How do i integrate K-Lite Codec pack With GOM player ?
I don't think you need to do anything special. You just need to install both software in the system.
K-Lite has its own player ..... I have too many installed in my sys ,dont want one more
why don't you do something about linux too...
fine if leo is preparing something for Windows then i will try to make a good thread for linux media players very soon![]()
for video i use VLC and for audio files i use VU player i bet nt a lot of u have tried itits awesome ..
never used VUplayer before, downloaded it just now. features look promising and it seems to be less memory hungry than winamp. will give u feedback.![]()
I have purged most of the media players from my system
Now i only have
WMP
GOM
Media player classic
installed
PS : New version of GOM player is available for download or an update if you have it already installed
