one more question. suppose i'm downloading a torrent which has , say two file1 and file2. But due to lower number of seeds i'm getting low speeds, say 50 kBps

will it work if i download each file separately in a different client, then i may/will get 50 kBps speed for each file ?

Even µTorrent and Azureus is banned in private trackers.
Is it be because of a security flaw in that build or is there any other special reason for banning them ?

Speed is directly dependent on # of seeds you are connected to at the moment. In theory if you tried such a thing...it might work, I haven't tested it. Tell us what you achieve.

Using the same torrent file in two different clients simultaneously will earn you a ban on most private trackers. Public trackers don't mind this though.

However you can use 2 clients; one for seeding and one for downloading.

Infact you can even use 2 separate instances of utorrent. I have seen a tutorial somewhere...google it. If you can't find it let me know, I'll post it here.

Some specific builds do not report the stats correctly to the tracker, and can lead to incorrect reporting of ratios. Thus most private trackers don't allow these versions. They also don't allow any alpha or beta versions of well known clients, mainly due to this reason.

Most advanced/popular torrent clients have disabled multiple connections from the same ip by default.

This command is not there in Unix based OS , can you give me its equivalent.

PS: Can some client seed you on basis of IP addresses also? Then there is no way you can get dual seeding.

people running multiple clients with the same torrent can download it from you. If not enabled, only one can access at a time.

Well as a newbie i used vuze since it has all inbuilt functions. You don't need to go to any websites to search for torrents.

But since my experience grew i started using u-torrent and i am quite satisfied with it as it uses less system resourses.

I have tried bitcomet also, but found u-torrent and vuze much better.

There is no doubt that uTorrent is the most popular client. Reason is that it is very light. A friend of mine was saying that when he was using Azureus (Vuze), the CPU fan noise could be heard.

I dont about that, but vuze uses bit more resources than utorrent.

Possible...but only if your friend was using the modern UI. Switch over to classic UI and enjoy blazing fast speeds.

    ^ Yeah mine too...

BTW is any one suffering from a problem where Vuze takes too much time to load? I may have a solution for you...

Vuze was working fine while I was on Vista...when I updated my os to 7, Vuze took nearly 5 minutes to boot up.

I searched everywhere on google, Vuze forums...could not find the answer...than out of the blue I saw this article on Vuze wiki...and it worked wonders!

Now when I start Vuze it loads up in a fraction of a second!!
