Texter is a text replacement utility which can help you to type faster as well avoid using abbreviations. As far as i have tested it seems to work well, though since its based on a script, it might be a little off the mark.
Here's how to use it :
I have attached the video demo as RAR and ZIP files,
Rar -- Video in EXE format (1.71 MB) Attachment 5196
Zip -- Video in SWF format + and htm file with the swf embedded (1.61 MB)Attachment 5198
---------
1. Download :
Download the software from the page ,
Texter (Windows)
2. Installing
pretty much nothing to explain.
3. Adding hotstrings :
Adding a word to the program's list of "hotstrings" ~the words which need to be replaced.
Use the "+" and "-" to remove the hotstrings.
Attachment 5197
4. Hotstring window :
In add hotstring , enter the abbreviation on the left side and the replacement text on the right side.
below , check any one of the triggers to replace the text
Instantly - as soon as you type the text will be replaced. Better to assaign this to unique words.
For example : If 'r' is abbreviation of 'are', then typing 'race' will
result in 'arece'
Tab,Enter, Space : the words will be entered only when whichever of
these assigned keys are pressed after typing the
hotstring.
5. Testing :
run any program which requires text input and test it out !
Notes :
1. I haven't extensively used it either, i found that sometimes, the print screen key wasn't working when it was enabled,so if you are facing any such problems , close the program.
2. It would be nice to enable it to run at windows startup for convenience because it does not create any shortcuts, however you can create one yourself from the program files directory.
