The new utorrent , released just a few days back , has some pretty cool features implemented in the new version – UDP tracker support, bandwidth throttling (uTP), transfer cap, usage graphs.

Obviously the most wanted features among these would be the bandwidth throttling (uTP) and transfer cap. Simply put, uTP is a way for the utorrent to detect your network connection usage, and then automatically adjust its bandwidth so that other users in the network won’t have bandwidth issues.

Also it has the ability to make network connection through NAT, without having to directly connect to internet. This means that it can automatically connect without the need reconfigure your router or your firewall.

The bandwidth cap feature will be useful to those with limited plans and / or those with FUP unlimited plans. BSNL users with NU will be not be able to take advantage of this, since it only presents a global limit and there is no way to exclude the night time usage.

There are minor additions to the statistics page, and now it shows the data downloaded / uploaded today.
