Microsoft warned Internet Explorer users who are using IE 5 and 6 on Windows 2000 and IE 6, 7, 8 on Windows XP and Windows server 2003 that a security flaw in its browsers makes way for attackers to access files stored on PC's.
The recently released security advisory by Microsoft said that if users are using Internet which is not running in "Protected Mode" can allow hackers and attackers to access files on that PC.
"Protected Mode" which is by default enabled in Internet Explorers which came in default with Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 and the latest release Windows 7 are protected of this exploitation because of protected mode.
This disclosure is for sure going to tarnish the image of internet explorer which has already lost the market share because the popularity gained by other browsers like Firefox and chrome.
