Thread: Personal transactions made through Paypal being cancelled

Recently PayPal has allegedly started cancelling all personal payments made through its system from or to India. Certain people claim that money which they had sent as gifts have reappeared in their own account as cancelled. Also it seems personal payments are blocked in PayPal and the payments made in the last 2-3 days have been automatically returned to the sender.

The recipients also receive email messages saying that their payment has been sent back to the sender, and if the payment was meant for a commercial purpose, they could send it using Send Money tab and then selecting goods and providing a shipping address. Apparently this is due to several Indian banks not allowing transactions through PayPal.

This is bound to make trouble for many people who rely solely on PayPal for their online transaction.

@ Admin, need your views. Is it the end of Paypal days ?

As per Paypal's reply to Binary Turf [binaryturf.com/advisory-paypal-reverses-personal-payments-indian-accounts] regarding this matter:

Although India customers are unable to send Personal payments, they are still receiving Personal payments from Non India customers.

This might become a serious issue for many.
