Microsoft has just released an update for PC’s using NVIDIA usb host controllers. This is meant to solve an issue with data transfer when the host system has a particular hardware configuration namely – Nvidia usb host chipset with the system having atleast 4 GB ram.

Apparently this particular configuration has data transfer issues when an type of communication or data transfer takes place over the usb interface.

As a result of this problem the computer either stops responding or the data transfer or usb communication is interrupted before it can complete. This not only affect mass storage devices but just about any kind of operation through the usb interface. The updates can be downloaded from the following page, note that it requires a windows genuine advantage check.
