Search connectors are simple tools which help to conduct a search in a specific location. By default windows search utility will only search on the local media and the networked media, buy by using a search connector it can be extended to remote locations too.

This means you can search various websites right from your windows search without even having to use a browser to do so. Also it can be used to search even within your company’s SharePoint website.

To use a specific search connector download it from internet and double click it. After installing it will be present in the windows explorer as a part of the favorites.

To search through a particular connector , select it and then type the text to be searched in the search box. These search connectors can be used only in windows 7.
