    Windows live messenger also simply called as live messenger has recorded an usage of 300 million users who have had 1.5 billion conversations and have sent over 9 billion messages.

    It comes as a part of the windows live essentials package and is free and thus used in about 76 markets around the world. It features a huge 48 languages support.

    According to Microsoft people spend over 9% of the global online time in using its IM, with over 40% of its users being highly active totally and have over 40 million people signing in at peak usages periods.

    There are more 1 billion status updates each and these drive a significant share of web traffic to windows live community websites. There is an upcoming version of the software under development namely the Windows Live Messenger Wave 4.

    it had been 6 years that i havent touched windows hotmail/messenger.. 4 years- never touched yahoo msgr.
