A PCI-e 1x is the younger brother of PCI-e 16x which has a lower bandwidth compared to the 16x connector. Because of this reason the discrete graphics cards generally requiring lots of bandwid th have been typically using only the PIC-e 16x connector.
But a manufacturer called Albatron plans to change that by introducing a graphics card which utilized the PCI-e 1x. This is generally meant only to cater to non-performance intensive graphics card , ie generally those entry level cards used for the purpose of HD-video or light editing works etc.
The product , Albatron G210-512 PCIe x1 features capability of DirectX 10.1 and it has a memory interface of 64bits and comes with 512 MB DD2.
It has GPU running at 589 MHz and memory, shared clocks at .5 GHz and 1.4 GHz respectively. It features a passive heat sink and also high quality capacitors.
