KDE released its compilation software KDE Software Compilation 4.4 Code named "Caikaku" which will bundle a lots of innovative applications for free software users.
KDE is a free software project to develop desktop environments designed to run on Linux, Windows, FreeBDS and Mac OS X systems, which provides basic desktop functionality. It also provides tools to developers to write standalone applications based on KDE Technology.

- New Authentication framework.
- Window Tabbing.
Plasma Netbook is the replacement of Plasma Desktop which is designed for netbooks. The new feature of KWin allows window tabbing which enables users to group multiple windows in a tabbed interface. The new Social Desktop combines social networking and online collaboration features which users can use to send messages and lots more fun.
