Microsoft has released an update for HPC Pack 2008 SP1 , the solution from Microsoft for managing the high performance computers, which has developed a problem of bloating of the boot.win file after the installation of service pack 1 over the existing HPC pack 2008.
The fix is designed to be able to integrate right into HPC 2008 SP1 automatically and then solve the issue. Many users faced the issue of “boot.wim” file increasing in size by itself after the installation of the service pack of the original release.
However if the file size has already exceeded over a 200 MB then it may not be possible to resolve it easily , and in which case the user has to follow the instructions mentioned in Microsoft technical help article KB978570.
