Thread: Mobile first : Says Google CEO

Google CEO Eric Schmidt said in Mobile World Congress in Barcelona that the mobile devices have displaced personal computers for computing and communication. He said the centre of attention should be mobile devices. His statement is of high importance after Microsoft revealed Windows Phone 7 and Apple its ipad. In his speech, Schmidt preached that developers in and outside Google to use the mantra mobile first. He borrowed glorious terms to present his mobile first slogan.

Believe me, Schmidt was not alone with this idea in mobile world congress. Many agree on this point and phone industry insiders confirm that smart phones and small mobile devices has secured their place in powerful way. Schmidt said that the smart phones market is growing at 30 % per year and will soon surpass the sales of Personal Computer.

Unless we have a good GPRS , 3G speeds at low rates, it wont work for India. Even mobile banking buzz is useless with out good 3G or EDGE speeds at low cost.

True. Let us hope 3G will be cheaper and affordable in a year or so.
