A petition has appeared in Prime Minister Gordon Brown. The petition signed by around 3,700 people urges the British government to dump Internet explorer 6 due to security concerns. Germany recently issued a warning to its citizens to dump Internet explorer and use Firefox. This has caused a spike in Firefox downloading graph. The petitioners seek the Gordon Brown to encourage government departments to upgrade from Internet Explorer6. All these issue popped up due to Google’s worry in China. There were reports that Gmail accounts were compromised due a flaw in Internet explorer 6. Google threatened to stop its service in China. The accounts compromised were than of human right activist and China had to take the blame for this hacking attempt.
