Thread: Yahoo – MS Deal cleared

It was somewhere in 1998 that I first saw a computer. Like many others I created an email ID. It was my first lesson online. The ID I created was an Yahoo ID. Yahoo was ruling the scene those days. It is all advanced and free from Yahoo. There was also Hotmail, but me and my friends choose Yahoo as we have felt a similar affection we have now for Google. But Yahoo had tough times ahead. Google came in as search engine provider for Yahoo and soon got the monopoly in the search field. Slowly Google spread its zone of influence to email and other service for which Yahoo had a monopoly that time. Due to the severe competition from Yahoo, Yahoo and Microsoft decided to join hands in the search engine field. The deal was that Bing will provide search results for Yahoo search.

Today the last hurdle to the search engine deal has been removed. The government regulator in United states and European commission has approved the deal so that Microsoft can go ahead with providing organic search result for Yahoo search.

I want Yahoo to revive. I made numerous ids on it and than rested on the one which i am currently using from 2002. Thats 8 complete years. Thanks to my friend who taught me how to do things on internet and hence i had a cyber cafe for myself
the part of yahoo was definitly its messenger service. Those days i was for hours on chatting. Making new friends online. Email was not my like that time. I liked to share friends' yahoo ids so that can pm them Infact i did more of messenger than sms,which i almost hate and find annoying. Yahoo webcam service and voip were considered best those days. Now after google came into our lives i have stopped using Yahoo messenger. In Russia they use ICQ so i have it on my mobile. But sometimes we do chat also on yahoo. It efficiently cuts costs on international messaging.
Cant forget those days,when i went for an entrance test in Varanasi and was searching for a Sify icafe. My returning train was of 7 or 8and i almost was free for whole six hours. I went to a Sify and spent almost all hours in chatting on yahoo, and got a hefty bill to pay.

I also want Satyam to regain the name it lost.
