Windows 7 and windows 23008 R2 both have inbuilt facilities for burning DVD’s which although basic can come quite handy at times. But the Windows DVD maker product in both these operating systems has issues burning a dual layer DVD.

According to Microsoft many user’s complained that when burning the DVD DL’s the burning failed due to time out. The actual problem is supposedly with the IMAPI interface, so apart from the windows dvd maker any other program using it may also suffer this problem.

Currently Microsoft has not released an update, but only a hot fix to resolve the issue .All older version of windows like windows XP and vista, do not have this problem and the hot fix must only be applied to OS’s having this problem.
