Intel today disclosed that it faced sophisticated attack around the same time when Google’s account was breached by Chinese hackers. It was disclosed in the annual report submitted to U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that Intel disclosed that it was hit in January. According to Intel, it is not new to them. Intel said that they regularly face attempts by outsiders to gain unauthorized access through internet to its information technology system. It is normally by masquerading as authorized users or surreptitious introduction of software. Intel expressed its inability to stop these kind of attacks which aimed to discredit the company, its product or end users as at times they are successful. Intel however preferred to maintain its secrecy about it defense system and whether the intruders were able to steal confidential company information. All it said was there was sophisticated attacks on its system around the same time Google’s network was breached.
