Internet explorer, the inbuilt and default browser of Microsoft windows product family, is still losing ground although gradually. The browser which is currently at version 8 and with the next version announced to be released in a couple of weeks, still dominates the market at the moment, though its only a matter of days.
The browser has been in a downward spiral ever since Mozilla’s Firefox became popular especially with the ever increasing number of add-ons and a host of other features, so much so that inspite of the latest version being on par with other browser in terms of features and security, it has not done much to improve the situation.
This in spite of the fact, that windows 7, which has sold a record number of copies in a few months since its release also has not had any effect. So unless Microsoft comes up with some unique functionality and brilliant performance, there is no way to gain back the lost share.
