The makers of iPod range of digital music players Apple Computer have acquired the asset management company Proximity.

With this, the company has extended its stable of technologies, as Proximity is the makers of artbox, an all-in-one asset management and workflow.

This application helps the users manage clips, animations, stills and audio. It is primarily focused on TV, news production and post-production workflows.

In addition, this tool also features a content management module, which allows the user to search EDL’s media across multiple platforms and formats.

Apple has not commented on this story so far though the website of Proximity confirms that all technology and intellectual property, including artbox workgroup and artbox enterprise have been acquired by Apple.
