Ovi maps navigation software by nokia was made available free of cost to select handsets. I tried using this feature on my E71 and found it was quite helpful and very upto mark . here are my observations.

Interface: Ovi maps has simple user interface which is easily operable by anyone
Search: the ovi maps search feature is good which displays lane name, along with contact numbers of certain landmarks

Voice navigation: having voice guidance is always good but having it in your local language is more fun ovi supports Hindi and tamil among other Indians languages and you can choose any language you desire.

My location: The feature of locating yourself on the map is fantastic helping you to track yourself and then map out routes from here.

Offline access: It can be very frustrating to try getting GPS signals in a remote location, but ovimaps offers you an option of downloading maps in advance , this is the best part if you want to head somewhere then you can load maps in advance.

Compass: the digital compass is awesome too

All in all ovimaps is very helpful but battery drain , and phone heating problem , also ovimaps does not recognize some very popular lanes, slow volume during voice navigation, street names displayed in very small font all these are areas needing improvement.
