|  Yahoo! China wins lawsuit against Qihoo.com Yahoo! China has won a ruling in a Beijing court which said that the operators of the website Qihoo.com are guilty of unfair competition as they suggested their visitors that the Yahoo! Toolbar was a security risk. The site also prompted users to de-install the Yahoo! toolbar from their browsers. Yahoo! Toolbar is an add-on for popular Internet Explorer web browser which provides easy searching capabilities in addition to quick links to other services provided by the internet company. It also comes loaded with security features preventing spyware and pop-up ads. Yahoo! China claimed that the website’s comments tarnished their reputation in the country. Courts have now ordered Beijing Sanjiwuxian Internet Technology Co Ltd to compensate Yahoo! China for damages and legal costs. They are also now required to publicly clarify incorrect allegations about the toolbar. |
