Thread: McAfee Internet Security 2010 - Review

Many might have been looking on for the McAfee Internet Security 2010 as McAfee was starting to have problems holding up it's old pride. But many of the recnet developments have not been for McAfee's good. One buggy update it had released last week set out a lot of commotion while it claimed to have had no clue of how the update affected their customers.

So, here's a quick review of the McAfee Internet Security 2010.

Pros

1.It's quite affordable and a home user can now get hold of one without much pain.
2.Relatively better user interface.
3.Many users have found it to run faster than the earlier versions while some found it to be the other way. But most of them seem to have found an improvement in speed.
4.Quick scanning.

Cons

1.Many users complain that after one pays the painless price, one will have to suffer some pain.
2.Setup seems to be a bit confusing for some users.
3.Bad support, especially in India (as users indicate).
4.Jumped up in the ranking for false positives.
5.Problematic updates.

The cons of the McAfee Internet Security 2010 seems to have increased in number as compared to the number of cons that faded out a bit over the past months.

McAfee is good antivirus but i have left it because it uses high memory and slow down the computer.

I have tried McAffe in my early days with computer. Got better friends afterwards.

Thank you gaggan. I too had left it for the same reason. It used to be quite a hit during 2006-2008.

By the way, you can expect many more software reviews coming back-to-back here as I am concentrating on it now.
